Covid-19: CT Positivity Rate Holding Steady

The number of COVID-19 cases in Connecticut has held relatively steady in recent weeks, while hotspots continue rising in other parts of the country.

In the latest data provided by the state Department of Public Health, there have been 1,216,083 COVID-19 tests administered in Connecticut, resulting in a total of 53,209 positive cases and 4,468 fatalities.

The infection rate on positive tests has remained at or below 1 percent of those being tested, and the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 remains flat at 65 patients still being treated.

More young people have been getting infected in recent weeks, with a total of 7,188 confirmed cases in residents between the ages of 20-20, 7,748 in people between the ages of 30-39, and 7,444 between the ages of 40 and 49.

Of the confirmed cases, 11,741 were in Connecticut residents over the age of 70.
